Eng. Hassan Swaidan

Founder and Chairman of Swaidan Engineering & Consultancy since 2000. A civil engineer and consultant specialising in applied geodesy, satellite positioning networks and large-scale master plans. He has an extensive record as an accredited, sworn expert to the Lebanese State, the competent courts and the Central Bank of Lebanon (Banque du Liban) in real-estate asset valuation, cadastral disputes, urban planning and real-estate development.

1. 2000 — Present

   • Leading and directing major master-planning engineering projects, urban planning studies, the subdivision and development of investment properties, and infrastructure networks across Lebanon.
   • Managing the company's fleet of advanced surveying and satellite geodetic positioning equipment, and liaising with the land registry and urban planning authorities.

• 17 August 2005 — Specialist lecture entitled “Uses and Applications of the Global Positioning System (GPS) in Lebanon”, delivered at Les Journées Géographiques organised by the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS) in cooperation with the Lebanese University and the École Supérieure des Géomètres et Topographes (ESGT).
• 29 November — 1 December 2005 — A series of specialist lectures in cooperation with the Syrian company GISCO, as part of the Geographic Information Systems workshop of the Syrian Ministry of Communications and Technology; focusing on GIS programming for municipal work, and on planning and managing the Tyre Coast Nature Reserve from regulatory, environmental and tourism perspectives.
